AMADPOC activities under TCB
This DfID project, for which the University of Sussex commissioned AMADPOC to assist, focused on cash transfer systems and their role in facilitating, or not, migration as an adaptive social response in areas where cash transfer programmes have been implemented. Focusing on cash transfer systems in Kenya, Malawi, Ethiopia and Tanzania (one cash transfer programme per country), the project explored how the design and eligibility criteria of different cash transfer systems affect a recipient’s ability to undertake migration as an adaptive strategy. Against the background, it made recommendations for the design of cash transfer programmes or revision of the existing ones based on the findings.
This was to ensure effective integration of social protection and adaptive goals. - Available online
